Teresa Haag: Lulu

This painting is called Lulu. This is a little consignment shop named Lulu Boutique in Downtowm Phoenixville, PA. This painting is done on book pages from an early 1900s fashion book about dressing for your body type. It was gifted to her shortly after she took this photo for reference. I think this painting is really pretty and interesting.

Teresa Haag--Street Things III

I chose Street Things III, oil on newspaper covered cardboard, mostly for the medium. At first I thought my computer screen was reflecting something in the background, but once I realized that the visible words are from the newspaper showing through the paint, I was very intrigued. I then noticed the color of the sky, which was very strong. I also loved how beautiful the streetlight was, and how the artist managed to capture the light. The houses are very simple, and the lines are thick, not overly thin and pin straight like when people paint very realistically.

Teresa Haag

This painting by Teresa Haag is called the ribbon cutting. Teresa haag is an artist that draws alot of buildings. Most of her art work is of streets and houses. I choose this picture because I really enjoy the colors she uses. I also really enjoy the sun setting. You can see it in the shadows she uses. You can also tell by the color of the buildings.

The medium is of the things that makes Teresa Haag's work stand out from the rest of the pack. she is well known for her urban settings, such as the one depicted above. There is something incredibly simple yet drastically detailed about her work. It is as if you can feel the atmosphere of the street. The contrast between the reds and blues is smooth yet also draws attention to itself as if it is sending out a call begging you to notice it.

City of Dreams by Teresa Haag

This is called the City of Dreams by Teresa Haag and she said she likes to paint city landscapes because it is what we see everyday and that's where her inspiration comes from. She quit her corporate job in 2011 to become an artist but art was always a big part of her life. The reason why I choose this painting is because it was the first paintings to have caught my eye cause of how colorful it is. She made the colors so vibrant and I like how so overlaid the buildings on top of each other.

December- Teresa Hagg

This is "December" by Teresa Hagg. It is oil on a newspaper covered canvas. The size is 42 x 32 x 2.2inches. I picked this one because I feel like it perfectly captured a cityscape during the nighttime. Where the houses and dim streetlights are illuminating certain parts of the street and the sky is blackish with light pollution. I enjoy how the newspaper gives the artwork texture and almost blurs it as you vision would be at night walking quickly home. 

The Corner Room

The Corner Room is a oil on a newspaper covered canvas by Teresa Haag. It is based off of Allen Street Grill in State College PA. I choose this pieces as it looks almost if it is a rainy day but you still see some children carrying balloons from a street festival and they sort of add to a more cheerful mode.
