Brooklyn Bound - Teresa Haag

This painting was created by Teresa Haag. I did not see a year on her website that it was painted in. The medium used in this canvas is oil on the newspaper covered on board. I picked this portrait because I like the angle that she chose the bridge to paint on. I like all of the details that she put into the bridge. The painting looks like the actual bridge. The bridge is light blue color and she did a good job of using that color. I also liked the brown color that she used to show the bricks at the bottom of the bridge. My favorite thing about this picture is the light blue sky and the city in the skyline. 

Teresa Haag – The Old Neighborhood

This painting is oil on newspaper covered canvas. It is a painting of rowhomes in Philly. I love how Teresa painted on top of newspaper, yet the newspaper can still be seen in certain areas on the canvas. She enjoys painting common and ordinary places for her viewers to get lost in. I think Teresa achieves this. She takes an ordinary street and turns it into a beautiful work of art through her use of color and painting style. So much detail is included in the piece that it makes it hard to look away. 

Teresa Haag Philly Reflections

This piece is called Philly Reflections which was created by Teresa Hagg. It is an oil on newspaper covered canvas. I really love this image because one building gives off the whole city. She so clearly reflected the other buildings in the surrounding area in focus of the main building. I also really like that she added the small details like the stop light and sign. It is such a captivating image and for something that has one building as the focal point of the painting.

Five Phoenixville Favorites - Teresa Haag

I love the complexity in this painting. I admire the different items in this painting and the many textures and color in every detail. There are so many different things happening at once in this painting but it is done so well that it is all balanced out. You can see every little thing that is occurring and everything stands out in its own way.

Back Seat by Teresa Haag

Teresa Haag paintings transport people to common and ordinary places with paint application on top of newspaper. She gets inspiration from what we see everyday which is cityscapes. Back Seat is an oil on newspaper covered canvas. Haag created this painting with the hopes that the “viewer feels the tension of the closed in taxi contrasted with the endless things to take in just outside the car”. I choose this painting because this is a view I would normally not look at when being in a cab but instead look to the side. I really like how she captured so much detail and color.

Teresa Haag is an artist from Phoenixville Pennsylvania. She paints mainly cityscapes, because she likes to paint what people see everyday. She likes to capture interesting slices of life. She also does  her paintings on newspaper, and uses that element to come through in certain parts of the paintings. I picked this painting that she did of downtown Phoenixville because its is nice and christmassy, and I think everyone in New England can relate to having this wintery experience when out around the holidays. I makes you feel all warm and holly jolly.

Verrazano - Teresa Haag

Teresa Haag is an artist from Pennsylvania who creates urban landscapes in oil on top of newspaper covered canvas. This painting is called "Verrazano." I chose this painting because it reminds me of home. I also love all of the shades of blue and grey in the bridge. The cars also look very realistic. I love the use of shadows and contrast, as you can see the areas where the sun was hitting.
