Teresa Haag paintings transport people to common and
ordinary places with paint application on top of newspaper. She gets inspiration
from what we see everyday which is cityscapes. Back Seat is an oil on newspaper
covered canvas. Haag created this painting with the hopes that the “viewer
feels the tension of the closed in taxi contrasted with the endless things to
take in just outside the car”. I choose this painting because this is a view I
would normally not look at when being in a cab but instead look to the side. I really
like how she captured so much detail and color.
