Brian Donnelly is an artist and designer commonly known as
KAWS. In his works you will see the use of figurative characters such as
snoopy, sponge bob, elmo, and more. KAWS uses color and lines to make his
artwork different from others particularly placing the X on hands, nose, and
ears. The artwork NYT from 2012 is acrylic on canvas. This piece stood
out to me from the rest because I like how KAWS depicts SpongeBob in a different
way. In this painting SpongeBob is not his bubbly character but instead seems
worried even scared to me. I also like the use of color and the X’s are always
present in his artwork.
