Frida Kahlo

This painting is called Henry Ford Hospital (the flying bed), and it is one of many painting done by Frida Kahlo. It was painted in 1932, and it represents her struggle through miscarriage and infertility. The painting depicts herself in the hospital bed having the miscarriage. Frida was desperate to have a son, represented by the fetus in the center, the other objects also represents things associated with childbirth and fertility. I like Frida Kahlo because she was not afraid to paint and represent womanly pain in a time when it was not talk about freely.
