Paul Gauguin - Fatata te Miti (by the Sea)

Eugene Henri Paul Gauguin was a French post-impressionist artist. He has been recognized for his experimental use of color. This painting is called By the Sea. It is an oil painting that was finished in 1892 and it can be found in the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. I chose this painting because of his creative use of color. I love the way the blues, purples, and oranges blend together. I also love the reflection of the trees in the water.
