Night Cafe at Arles

Night Cafe at Arles is on oil on canvas by Paul Gauguin done in 1888. Gauguin visited by Vincent van Gough after his brother Theo had sent many requests. Once Gauguin arrived in Arles, he stayed with Vincent at a little cafe in Arles owned by the Ginoux couple. Gauguin was able to persuade Madame Ginoux to pose for a picture as well as her husband who was painted by Vincent. This painting was apart of the competition between van Gogh as he painted the interior and Gauguin painted this portrait.
