Wayne Thiebaud is an American painter known for his colorful pieces of ordinary items like cake, candy, paint can, lipsticks, ice cream cones, etc. His rise to fame did not happen overnight and he struggled to get his work accepted in any art halls; when he did, his work took off. I like this piece because it is very nostalgic to me. I like how each lollipop has its own design and the shadows in this piece give it a lot of depth. I also think that the name "Lollipop Tree" is a fun idea because the lollipops really do resemble the shape of a tree. This piece is colorful, bright, and happy.
