This painting by Wayne Thiebaud was made in 2003, is 48 x 72 inches, is acrylic on canvas, and worth approximately 3 million dollars. Thiebaud is known primarily for his pop art paintings. However, he has also done several landscape and figure paintings. I chose this painting because of its uniqueness. It is clearly a landscape, yet, I feel the colors and shapes are exaggerated. I love his use of color, mainly the complementary yellow and purple. This is an interesting painting that I feel I could look at forever and never quite figure it out.
