Woman with a Flower Paul Gauguin

Paul Gauguin painted Woman with a Flower or originally called Vahine No Te Tiarein in 1891. This is an oil on canvas. This portrait is of one of his neighbors and is one of the first paintings on Tahiti. He got the idea of this painting because of this woman came into his hut and looked at the paintings on the wall. While she was looking at the wall, he sketched out a drawing of her. Once she noticed that he was drawing she is left and came back with the blue dress on and a flower.
