This is a painting by Wayne Thiebaud painted in 2001. I picked it because of the various different colors that make the painting intriguing to the eye. It is also different from the usual food he has as his subject. It seems to almost defy gravity how he paints the hills of San Francisco, it is somewhat dreamlike but also realistic.
