Paul Gaugin - "Reclining Tahitian Women"

Paul Gauguin is best known as a painter, but he also made woodcarvings, sculptures, and prints. His artwork, "The Reclining Tahitian Women," was painted from 1848- 1903. It's a creative mix of differing tones and colors. The cool toned parts contrast pleasantly with the warm colors in the background of the painting. It's an alluring mix of sunlight and shadow surrounding a vivid snapshot of daily life.
