Monet



Nympheas, Les Nymphéas is an oil on canvas by Claude Monet. It is on permeant display at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris. Monet was one of the founding impressionist and painted nearly 250 different water lillies and what he is most known for. After his wife passed away in 1911, he began painting on a larger scale, with the largest being 6 feet in height. These pieces depict water lilies Monet had gone on to plant in his backyard which he was very proud of.
