As seen in the documentary Rembrandt is admired for his
realistic depiction of the human. Also known for his great use of light and
shadows in his paintings. Rembrandt is an important artist in Dutch art history
since he contributed new styles and subject matters. The return of the Prodigal
son is an oil painting and one of the last works Rembrandt worked on after
his death. This painting depicts the Biblical story of the Prodigal Son. I choose this painting because I like the
emotion being depicted and how the light is shined upon the son. The son has
come back home asking for forgiveness and is received with open arms.
