Edward Hopper- Nighthawks

Edward Hopper is a famous painter. The painting shown above is titled "Nighthawks" and was painted in 1942. As you can see, this painting depicts people sitting in a restaurant late at night. The picture is taken from the outside, looking into the restaurant. I really like this painting because it tells a story without a lot happening. The brighter colors on the inside really contrast with the darker colors on the outside. The glass is clear, but you can tell that its two separate locations and different things happening.
