Pemaquid Light by Edward Hopper

This lighthouse is located in Maine by Muscongus and Johns bay which was built in 1835. Hopper visited this lighthouse nearly a century later in 1929. Hopper chose to not include the top of the lighthouse because he wanted to give more of the illusion that the lighthouse was bigger and more majestic. Along with his other paintings, Hopper included human figures which was his signature style to include in his Maine paintings.
