Rain on River

Edward Hopper was an American realist painter and paintmaker. He is known as the most important realist painter in the twentieth century in America.  Edward Hopper created Rain on water in 1938. To create this painting he use pencil and water color. This painting is base off a river in South Royalton, Vermont. Rain on River is related to the White River series created in the summers of 1937 and 1938.
