Lucretia - Rembrant art work
Lucretia was painted by Rembrant in 1666. He painted this during the Dutch Golden Age. He uses oil painting in this portrait. I picked this portrait because I like the colors he chose to capture the image. I like the golden colors on her dress. I also like the golden necklace that she is wearing. She has a dagger in her right hand, she has just taken it out of herself. There is blood that is seeping into her dress. Lucretia is a ancient Greek character who killed herself after being raped by an Etruscan King. Her face looks lifeless as if she can't feel anything anymore.
