Picasso Rose Era- Maternity

This is a painting from the rose era of Pablo Picasso. This painting is from 1909, and is titled Maternity. This painting shows the mother in such an innocent stage, infatuated with her young child that can only survive through her care. This is the purest form of love, and vulnerability. The mother is unsure that the viewers are watching her and still is only focused on her child. She looks at the infant with such love. This shows a stage that all mothers go through and shows the bond that takes no time to build, through instinct.
