Rain on River- Edward Hopper watercolor

This is Rain on River by artist Edward Hopper. It is part of his watercolor collection, and this painting was created in 1938. I chose this painting because it seems like it was a painting that the artist decided tomato in the very moment of time that this was occurring. This piece really allows the viewer to feel as if they are at a scene where it had just rained, and the sun is now shining through the clouds and the rain has stopped. I think the way the artist used light, and the color scheme really works well to portray this scene. The simplicity of this painting also amazes me because a sight so simple is beautiful and can say so much very simply.
