Garçon à la Pipe or a boy with a pipe

The above image is a painting done by Pablo Picasso in 1905 during his Rose Period, that lasted between 1904 and 1906. The name of the painting is Garçon à la Pipe, which translates to "a boy with a pipe". I chose this work from Picasso rose period because the way the flowers behind the boy seem to almost form a pair of wings caught my eye. The boy's blue clothing against the lighter background is striking. The reason I like the painting so much is that while I was looking at it I didn't notice the very pipe for which it is named. When I read the name and realized I missed the pipe I decided I owed it to the piece to chose it.
