Haskell's house- edward hopper

This painting is called " Haskells House" by Edward Hopper in 1924. He got married and shortly his wife Jo named it "the wedding cake house." The mansion is located in Gloucester Harbor in Massachusetts. Hopper did a good job of the painting the house on a hill. I also noticed that he did a he did a fantastic job at capturing the houses architecture. He showed intracit details of the house, I really like how he showed the balcony above the entrance. He shows that the windows are open. You can notice the light that is coming out of the windows. I also like how he showed the white fence on the side of the house, you can see it all the way back of the house. You can also see the two houses in the painting that are on each side. They are in the distant, so they don't look as big as the one in the middle. They are also both a yellowish color as compared to the one in the middle. The Haskell house is painted in white, it really captures your attention.
