April Gornik is an american painter that paints american landscapes. Her paintings are realistic but have a dreamlike quality to them. Her paintings and drawings embody oppositions and speak to America's historically conflicted relationship with nature. This painting is called The Fall by April Gornik. It is an oil on linen painting created in 2001. I picked it because of the deep rich colors. It almost looks like a storm is coming. I also thought it was a little different from some of her other stuff I saw, color wise.
