Light Through the Forest

The above painting is Light Through the Forest painted on linen with oil paint in 1999 by April Gornik. April Gornik was born in Cleveland, Ohio in the year 1953 she grew up to become a very skilled painter of American landscapes. I chose this painting because it reminds me of my backyard (17 acres of pure woods). The lights peeking through the canopy of the trees is a comforting sight, as it is filtered down into grassy underbrush. The way she captured the pure essence of the scene is impressive and beautiful.
